Year 4 - 2017/18
In the Autumn term, Year 4 are very excited to be learning through the whole school ICB topic of ‘Dreams’!
In English, children will be writing their alternative ending of a spooky short film called ‘Alma’. They will also be writing setting descriptions and newspaper reports. We will also use a wide range of vocabulary to write poems.
In PSHE, children will be using Martin Luther King’s ‘I have a Dream’ speech as inspiration to write their their own speeches for themselves, their future and for the wider world.
In Maths, children will be working hard to become proficient with their place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and measures knowledge. At Lena Gardens, we use reasoning and problem solving questions to challenge and extend the children.
In History and Geography, we will be focusing on The Romans. What the changes in Britain were from the Stone age to the Iron age. We will also be learning about The Roman Empire and its impact on Britain.
In Science, we will be learning about ‘Living things and their Habitats’. We will be using classification keys and we will be looking the wider environment.
In PE, we will be focusing on gymnastics and dance. We will also be going swimming this year!
Finally, we have a very exciting trip to The Museum of London and the cinema this term!
